We offer one-off events, short courses, and private gatherings in the Bay of Plenty. Each session is designed to help you learn, unwind, and explore something new in a warm, creative setting.

I'm Rhianna May, the artist behind Art Sessions. I'm passionate about making creativity feel natural, inspiring, and accessible to everyone. While I focus on exploration over perfection,
I also bring a deep understanding of drawing and painting techniques for those who want to build their skills. Whether you're just starting out or have been creating for years, I aim to create a space where you can experiment, express yourself, and genuinely enjoy the process.

FAQs

  • Everything you need will be provided, just bring yourself and a willingness to create. For some of our ongoing or weekend-long workshops, you may be asked to bring a few of your own materials. Full details will always be listed on the event page.

  • Evening sessions typically run for 2–3 hours. Exact times will be listed on each event page, so be sure to check the details when booking.

  • We offer private art experiences for birthdays, hens dos, corporate team events or just a beautiful gathering with friends. Head to our Private Events page to find out more or get in touch and we’ll tailor something for you.

  • You don’t need any prior artistic experience, our sessions are all about enjoying the process, not chasing perfection. In fact, some of the most beautiful results come from letting go and simply creating for the joy of it.

  • Spaces are limited, so please let us know as soon as possible if you can’t attend. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the event may not be refundable.

  • The majority of our sessions are hosted in our beautiful Mount Maunganui studio - a calm, creative space designed for you to feel inspired and at ease. From time to time, we also run pop-up events in unique locations to keep things fresh and interesting. Details for each session will always be listed on the event page.
